The Pardoner's Tale and Debate

The Canterbury Tales: The Pardoner's Tale is my favorite in the Canterbury's Tales. One of my favorite part is the time when the three rioters went to find and kill Death to avenge their friend. While they were on there way, they saw an old man and he said that Death was under the oak tree. Then they found lots of gold there and wanted to carry it to town in by night. But they felt hungry so they draw lots to to see who goes to town to get bread and wine. The youngest of the three rioters lost and he went to town. The first and second rioter plans to kill the youngest rioter so then they can receive greater shares of the wealth. On the other side, the youngest rioter plan to put poison inside the wine so then he can have all the gold. When he got back to the oak tree, he got killed by the other two rioters and they celebrated by drinking the wine, then the both of them died too. We can learn from this story that it's not good to be greedy and be cautious when deciding to trust others.
Last few weeks we did debates and for me, I think it was a great experience. We debated on lots of topics and it was all quite interesting. I'm not that kind of person who likes to debate but I felt that it was pretty fun and interesting. One of my favorite topic is "Should Students be Forced to Buy Tablet Computers for Ease of Learning at School and Use in Class?." I was interested in this topic and I wrote this as my persuasive essay.

BEOWULF~~~

Beowulf is one of the epic poems that I was really interested in reading about. Even though the ending was kind of suprising and unexpected but Beowulf is always the hero that people admires. Beowulf killed Grendel, Grendel's mother, and the dragon which no one else was able to defeat. This is why I couldn't believe that he died in the end which cause it to be a sad ending. From this story, I learned that we should be brave at anytime and respect other people.
